Our First Series
The first three children's books from Big Talk Books each feature a character with a unique perspective and diagnosis(es) that contributes to the plot of their story, ranging from evaluation and treatment to self-care, each story is different.
Revy Raccoon
Loves to bike, rock climb, and spend time outdoors! Sometimes, his dual-diagnoses throw bumps in his plans and pebbles under his bike tires. He is evaluated by a therapist, who teaches him new things that can help him be healthy and calm. Revy goes to meetings, and sticks to his routine so he is "On Guard!" to battle his dual-diagnoses. |
Llama Lorena
Sometimes feels blue, super blue, so sad there is nothing that she can do. When she learns that she has bipolar disorder, she tells her friends. They treat her differently, and make her sit by herself. Lorena's family comes together to remind her she is a hard-working, race-winning, joy-spreading Llama. |
Zina Zebra
As a ballerina she loves spinning in the dance studio. Sometimes, her anxiety and depression make her feel like she is spinning at home, too! Her sweet dog, therapist, and medicine help her survive even the darkest, saddest times. Zina learns how to balance on her toes and in life, because with her self-care and support system, she grows a bit more each day. |
